There are some Strength and Weakness of a pluralistic society.
Strength:1.Support for social freedom: Many persons fear excessive power by business or any other institution, because their freedoms will decline in this type of situation./ 2.Many Opportunities for leadership: There are so many leadership avenues open, persons with leadership potential need not feel suppressed in their efforts to gain leadership. In effect, pluralistic social organization is a training ground for leadership and a progressive society needs a large supply of leaders./ 3.Tolarance of Other ideas: They become aware that different ideas and approaches to problems are necessary to serve different needs. Since their own loyalties are diversified, they are tolerant of the loyalties of others likewise diversified./ 4.Improvel Social Decisions: Since pluralism brings many organizations clamoring to present their different points of view, it provides a large variety of inputs into the social decision-making process. / 5.Satisfaction of different humans Needs:The field of psychology indicates that people are individually different; consequently, they have different need and want patterns.
Weakness: 1.Lack of Central Direction: Diverse institutions tend to pursue their own interest unless there are superor dinate goals to pull them together; therefore , a pluralistic system tends to depend on government to provide social goals, long range plans and polices./ 2.Emphasis on Institutional Power instead of service: In a system in which institutions have some freedom of action, there is always the possibility that institutional power will be overemphasized instead of institutional service./ 3.Social fragmentation: Another weakness of pluralism is the possibility that so many different groups will arise that their objectives will overlap and they will dissipate their energies trying to maintain coordination and keeping off each other toes./ 4.Elitism:Technology and social systems are becoming increasingly complex, and it is inevitable that some persons should know more than others about these complex matters./ 5. Focus on Conflict: It is sometimes said that pluralism focuses on conflict, since there are many autonomous organizations seeking their own goals.
